Description

Homeleigh is a house dating back to the 17th century, which was re-faced with brick in the 18th century and altered in the 20th century. It is timber-framed and rendered with brick, featuring a plain tile half-hipped roof and a large brick stack. The house is a single storey with attics, originally a two-bay hall house. The south-facing entrance front has a doorway positioned off-centre, with a 20th-century gabled porch and a glazed door. To the left of the doorway is a two-light casement window, and to the right a four-light bow window above two two-light raking dormer windows. All windows are 20th-century replacements. Inside, portions of the original timber framing remain, including most of the main posts, wall plates, and strengthening arch braces. Two trusses are partly visible. There are inserted chamfered spine beams, and a 20th-century staircase.
