Description

St Michael’s Farm House is a farmhouse, originally two or three cottages, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick with a blue brick band at the base, and has a pantile roof. The house has left gable and single ridge brick stacks, with remnants of a right gable stack. The gables are raised with brick coping and kneelers, and there are raised brick eaves. The building is two storeys high and six bays wide. The front elevation features, from left to right, two Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath segmental arches; a small, single light also set beneath a segmental arch; a doorway with a plank door; a similar Yorkshire sash window beneath a segmental arch; and a final Yorkshire sash window with glazing bars. Evidence suggests earlier window openings were present. Above these are four Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars, varying in size. Two-storey wings extend to the rear.
