Description
This is a late 18th-century barn located at School House Farm in Norwell. The barn is constructed of brick with a steep pitched pantile roof. It features a brick plinth, dentillated eaves, and tumbled coped gables. The single-story structure comprises five bays of unequal size. The east-facing front has a stable door to the left with flanking piers, and another stable door to the right, both with segment-headed arches. To the right of the second stable door is a 19th-century brick lean-to addition with a pantile roof and a single stable door with a segment head. Eight small vents are visible on this elevation. Above the stable doors, to the left, is a pitch hole with a hatch, and to the right, a sash window with glazing bars and a hatch door. Six further vents are above these. Another tier of pantiles and weatherboarding covers a sloping dormer which includes pigeonholes. The south gable has eight vents arranged in three tiers.
