Description
The Newark Area Health Authority offices, originally a house, date from the early 19th century and were converted to offices in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick with a colourwashed front, stone dressings, and a hipped slate roof. It features a plinth, sill bands—one of which is moulded—and an eaves board. The structure has two storeys and a three-window range of glazing bar sashes, each with moulded surrounds and flat hoods supported by scroll brackets. The central entrance has a double-pilastered doorcase with a panelled frieze and cornice, leading to a two-leaf panelled door with an overlight. On either side of the entrance are single glazing bar sashes, also with moulded surrounds. Inside, the building contains round-headed doors and recesses.
