Description

The Manor House is a late 17th-century house, with some 19th-century brick patching. It is constructed of red brick with a decorative machine tile roof and decorative ridge cresting, topped by a single ridge brick stack. Originally designed as a hall house with a baffle entrance, the house is now single-storied with an attic, extending over six bays. A projecting, gabled cross wing is situated on the left side and rises two stories in height. The front door features a plank and partially glazed door, with a gabled wooden hood covered in plain tiles overhead. To either side of the door are single 20th-century tripartite glazing bar cross casements. A further similar casement is located to the left of the projecting bay, while two smaller similar casements are on the right. Above, a single smaller casement is visible. The gabled bay contains a similar tripartite casement, and two gabled dormers each have a narrow bargeboard finial and a single cross casement. The left gabled bay features two tie plates. A small pilaster strip is found in the re-entrant angle. The interior includes two bressummer fireplaces and ground-floor chamfered beams with ogee and broach stops.
