Description
Osmanthorpe Manor is a house built in the early 18th century, with alterations and extensions added in the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof. The building has a single red brick ridge stack and another red brick stack on the rear ridge. It is set on a plinth and has an L-shaped plan, consisting of two storeys plus an attic and five bays.
The central feature is a red brick and plain tile gabled porch from the 19th century, which has ashlar coping on the gable. The doorway is chamfered brick with a segmental arch above and a 19th-century door. Each side of the porch has a small glazing bar sash window. Flanking the porch are two canted bays, also of red brick and plain tile, each with a polygonal roof and a single sash window flanked by narrow sashes. Above these bays, there are four two-light casements and a single central two-light Yorkshire sash, all with flush wedge brick lintels. The attic features two half-hipped dormers made of red brick with plain tile roofs, each containing a single Yorkshire sash window. At the rear of the house, there is a late 19th-century wing.
