Description

The barn at Chapel Farm is a threshing barn dating from around 1790. It is constructed of brick and features a pantile roof with plain eaves and coped gables. The barn is single storey and consists of three bays. On the north side, there is an off-centre doorway with a timber lintel and a 20th-century sliding door, flanked on the left by four cross breathers and on the right by two cross breathers. Above this doorway, there are six breathers arranged in a similar pattern. The south side also has a lower doorway that is similar. The west gable includes three cross breathers, with six similar breathers above. Inside, there is a half-height loft at each end, and the roof structure consists of principal rafters with halved collars and tenoned purlins.
