Description

This is a group of six cottages, originally built in the early 19th century and restored in 1991. They form part of St Leonards Court in Newark on Trent. The cottages are constructed of brick, with a colourwashed finish, and have a pantile roof. They feature a first-floor band, cogged eaves, and three ridge stacks. The cottages are two storeys high plus attics, with a twelve-window front. The first floor has symmetrical window placement, with six boarded-up windows and six blank openings. Above this are five raking dormers, containing the remains of two-light casement windows. On the ground floor, there are six windows with plank shutters and six close-boarded doors, all with segmental heads and beaded jambs. The cottages were restored by the Nottinghamshire Preservation Trust.
