Description
The fountain, located 70 meters south of Thoresby Hall, was built in 1865 by A. Salvin for the third Earl Manvers. It is constructed of ashlar and features an octagonal basin with a moulded rim. Surrounding the main basin are four small moulded semi-circular flanking basins, each adorned with an animal mask spout. The central jet is carved and moulded, supported by scroll brackets and leading to a shallow bowl. This fountain is an integral part of the terraces and formal gardens.
