Description

This is a row of four early 19th-century houses located on Albert Street, Newark on Trent, and including the property at No. 1 Albion Street. The houses are constructed of brick and feature gabled and hipped pantile roofs, with a single gable and two ridge stacks. Cogged eaves are present. The ground floor window openings are segment-headed. The houses are arranged over two storeys and have a five-window range. The left side of the building has three top-hung casement windows, while the right side has a plain sash window and a blank section. Below, on the left, there are two doors with overlights, each flanked by a single top-hung casement. To the right of these are a similar door and sash window, followed by an entry door and a plain sash window. An ogee-headed scraper is located between the two pairs of doors. The return elevation to Albion Street has two plain sash windows and a central 20th-century door with overlight, flanked by single plain sashes.
