Description
The boundary wall adjoining numbers 11 and 12 on Church Street in Mansfield Woodhouse dates back to the 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared rubble and dressed stone, featuring a flat stone coping and ashlar dressings. On the left side, the wall curves to accommodate a pair of square rustic gatepiers, which have plinths and concave domed caps. This section includes a pair of plain 20th-century timber gates. On the right, there is a Classical style gateway with pilasters, paterae, an open pediment, and a rubble-filled tympanum, along with a pair of 19th-century wire and fretwork doors. Further right, there is a plain ashlar doorway, and beyond that, a blocked window with a projecting architrave. To the west, there is a similar adjoining wall with ramped ashlar coping. The wall is approximately 50 meters long and 12 meters high. It is included in the register for its group value only.
