Description

Pleasley Hill Farmhouse is a mid-18th century and early 19th century building, with later additions from the mid-19th century and alterations from the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings, topped with plain tile and slate roofs. The early 19th century front, facing west, features a plinth, an eaves band, coped gables, and two brick gable stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a three-window range of 12-pane sashes with projecting painted stone surrounds and a cornice. At the center, there is a mid-19th century square porch with a cornice and a moulded round-arched doorway that includes a half-glazed double door and fanlight, flanked by single Doric columns. The left gable has a 12-pane sash window on the ground floor. The rear wing, dating from the 18th century, has a three-light window with stone flush mullions, a similar window below it, and to its right, a beaded six-panel door. There is a lower two-storey rear wing from the 19th century that includes 20th century casements and doors. Attached to the left gable is an S-curved stone garden wall with half-round coping, along with a gateway featuring square gate piers.
