Description

Two headstones located 8 meters southeast of the south porch of the Church of St. James. They date from 1690 and 1701/2 and are made of dressed stone. The headstone on the left has rounded corners and is inscribed, "Here lyeth the body of Mary Farnsworth who dyed ye 31th day of Decemb'r 1701/2 in the 7th yeare of her Age." The headstone on the right has square corners and is inscribed, "..... Lyeth the body of Richard Nosent who dyed June 23 1690."
