Description
The Spinney is a house built in the late 18th century and 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a Welsh slate roof, with first and second floor bands, plain eaves, and cogged eaves in the gables, along with stone dressings. The house has a single large front wall stack and is two storeys high with garrets, arranged in an L-plan with two bays.
The main west front has an off-centre moulded doorcase that includes a geometrical overlight and moulded brackets supporting the hood. This doorcase is flanked by single integral 20th-century metal frame glazing bar casements. To the right, there is a two-light mullioned and transomed window. Above this, on each floor, there is a single glazing bar sash window with a segmental head.
On the south front, to the left, there is a 19th-century two-storey canted bay window with a pierced brick balustrade, which contains a French window and two fixed lights on each floor. At the rear of the property, there is a former cottage built around 1785, also made of brick with a slate roof, two storeys high, and two bays, featuring irregular 19th and 20th-century fenestration.
