Description

A pigeoncote with flanking stable blocks, dating from around 1800. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings, and has hipped and pyramidal roofs. The two-storey pigeoncote is square in plan and features a central round-headed doorway with a rusticated surround and a glazed semicircular overlight. Above the doorway is a round-headed fixed window with a stone sill, keystone, and imposts, and a similar window is located at the rear. To the left of the pigeoncote is a stable block with a central close-boarded door set within a segmental head, flanked by a triple-light window on each side. A later 19th-century stable block is located to the right, containing a 20th-century fixed window, a close-boarded stable door, a triple fixed light, a half-glazed door, and another triple fixed light. The buildings are included on the list solely for their group value.
