Description
The monument to Lieutenant General Arthur Cavendish Bentinck is located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Winifred, 5 metres southeast of the apse. This early 20th-century monument takes the form of a low table tomb made of ashlar. It is rectangular and features four bulbous feet, standing on a rectangular paved area. The edges of the base are decorated with grapes and vine leaves, while the top displays a stylised decorative cross set against an open background. The cross bears the inscription: "To the memory of Lieutenant General Arthur Cavendish Bentinck 2nd son of Lord Charles Cavendish Bentinck Born May 9 1819 Died Dec 11 1877."
