Description

The Old Rectory is a rectory that has been converted into a house, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of brick, with some areas rendered, and features hipped roofs covered in graduated slate. The building has an ashlar plinth, cogged and rebated eaves, and is topped with two ridge stacks and one side wall stack.

The structure is two storeys tall and has five bays arranged in an L-plan. The west end includes a central projecting bay with two round-headed recesses, each containing a single glazing bar sash window. The main south front has an off-centre round-headed doorcase, which is moulded and features a reeded lintel, keystone, and an ogee overlight. To the left of the doorcase is a 19th-century canted bay window with a central French window and two glazing bar sashes. To the right, there is a tripartite fixed light and a blocked doorway, followed by a single glazing bar sash.

On the upper floor, to the left, there are two glazing bar sashes, and to the right, a single blocked opening flanked by two glazing bar sashes. The east end has a 20th-century flat-roofed bay window on the left, with a single glazing bar sash to its right. Beyond this is a 19th-century rustic porch with a slate roof. Above the porch, to the left, is a single French window and to the right, a single Yorkshire sash window with a segmental head.
