Description

The Old Hall and adjoining Old Hall Farm House is a house built in 1673, with a rear wing added in the 19th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features 18th and 20th century pantile roofs with a plain tile verge. It has a chamfered brick plinth, a moulded first floor band, and a frieze of modillioned lunettes, along with modillioned eaves and three ridge stacks.

The main east front consists of two storeys and four bays, with an off-centre two-storey porch that has a plain tile roof. The porch features a round-headed doorway with a moulded brick keystone and imposts, flanked by banded brick Ionic pilasters, and contains a 17th century lozenge panelled door. To the left of the porch is one mullioned and transomed casement, and to the right are two similar casements, all with coved brick mullions, transoms, and reveals. Above the porch is a datestone inscribed '1673', which has a hood mould and the Cartwright Arms. Above this, there is a lunette in a blocked opening, flanked by obelisk-shaped pilasters. Further above, to the left, is a blocked mullioned and transomed window, and to the right are two 19th century mullioned and transomed casements. At the rear, there are two 20th century casements.

Inside, the front room to the left features painted panelling and a reeded marble fireplace. The rear wing has five 20th century casements of various sizes, each with dentillated hood moulds. Above this wing are two gabled through-eaves dormers, each with a single similar casement.
