Description
South View is a house dating from the late 18th century, with 19th-century extensions. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof. The building has two gable and one ridge red brick stacks, along with eaves and first-floor bands. It stands two storeys high and has four bays, with the rightmost bay being a later 19th-century addition. The second bay from the left slightly projects and is topped with a pediment. The doorway in this bay has a six-fielded panel door, a traceried overlight, and a wooden architrave surround. To the right of the doorway are two glazing bar Yorkshire sash windows, while to the left is a single glazing bar sash window in a late 19th-century single-storey projecting bay with a slate roof. Above, there are four glazing bar Yorkshire sashes, all of which have wooden frames, flush splayed brick lintels, and slightly projecting keystones. To the left, set back, is a red brick lean-to with a single fixed light, and to the right is another red brick lean-to with a single brick stack. At the rear, there are two-storey extensions.
