Description

No. 4 High Road is a cottage dating from the late 18th century, which was refaced in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of dressed coursed rubble and features a slate roof. The roof has a red brick gable stack on the left and a similar ridge stack to the right, indicating the extent of the cottage. The left gable is stone coped with a kneeler. There is a wooden dentil eaves band with a decorative wooden fascia above. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays. The central doorway has a half-glazed 20th-century door, flanked by single sash windows. Above the doorway, there are two similar sash windows. This building is included in the register for its group value only.
