Description

Abbey Lodge Farmhouse is a building with origins dating back to the 13th century, substantially altered in the late 18th century and again in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with red brick detailing. The roof is covered in pantiles, with two dormers featuring 20th-century casement windows, brick copings to the gables, and gable stacks. The farmhouse is arranged in a T-shape, with a single storey and attic. The front elevation has two windows with ashlar wedge lintels and large 20th-century casements. Above each window is a small fragment from Bardney Abbey, each featuring a carved human head. Two small, blocked garret windows are located on the west side. A doorway is set within a low 20th-century extension to the right-hand side, and a further low 20th-century extension is present to the rear.
