Description
Nos. 10-16 on Church Street in Hemswell are a row of four cottages built in the late 18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. The cottages are made of coursed ironstone rubble and feature a pantile roof that has three ridge stacks and a single flat-headed dormer on the right, which contains a 20th-century casement window. The building is two stories high with an attic and has a five-bay front. There is a doorway to a through passage on the left, topped with a wooden lintel. To the left of the doorway, there is one sliding sash window, and to the right, there are four sliding sash windows, all of which have wooden lintels. Above, there are four more sliding sash windows, also with wooden lintels, while the opening beneath the dormer has been blocked. The rear of the building has irregular 20th-century extensions.
