Description
Temple Garth Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1825. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with irregular ashlar bands and red brick. The slate roofs feature red brick tumbling on two gable ends, with the east end having a hipped roof. The building has a single gable stack and two lateral stacks, forming an L-plan.
The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic and has a three-bay front that includes a plinth and red brick quoins. The central doorway has a rectangular overlight with a brick-dressed segmental head, red brick quoins, and a plank door. On either side of the doorway are single three-light casement windows with brick segmental heads and quoins. Above the doorway is a blocked opening with a red brick segmental head and quoins, flanked by two more three-light casement windows with red brick segmental heads and quoins. There is a small central oculus above and two raking dormer windows in the roof. This farmhouse is located on the site of a Templar preceptory.
