Description
Manor House is a house built in the late 17th century, with early 19th century and minor 20th century alterations. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and ashlar quoins, topped with a pantile roof featuring stone coped gables and kneelers, and has two brick gable stacks. The house is L-shaped and has a two-storey, three-bay front with a dog tooth eaves course. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door, which is covered by a 20th century brick gabled porch with a lead roof, and is flanked by two plain sash windows from the 19th century. On the first floor, there are three similar windows. All windows feature segmental brick heads with prominent keystones. To the left, there is a single-storey, two-bay extension from the 20th century, also made of coursed limestone rubble and with a pantile roof. Inside, the parlour contains a late 17th century moulded beam, while the chamber above has a chamfered beam with an ogee stop and a butt purlin oak roof. The two bedrooms feature early 19th century bath grates set in moulded wooden surrounds.
