Description
Orchard House is a house built in the mid-18th century, with a 19th-century addition and some minor alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and a pantile roof that has two brick gable stacks. The building has a two-storey, three-bay front with a central half-glazed panelled door, which is flanked by single Yorkshire glazing bar sash windows. On the first floor, there is a central 20th-century fixed light window, also flanked by single Yorkshire glazing bar sashes. All openings have segmental brick heads, except for the central upper window, which is positioned at the eaves. To the right, there is a three-bay, two-storey early 19th-century extension that has a central door flanked by Yorkshire sashes, with two similar windows above. Inside, there is a sunken dairy, some 18th-century fitted cupboards, and a plastered stud partition.
