Description
This Methodist chapel, built in 1864, features pale orange brick with red and white brick and ashlar dressings, along with some polychromatic work, topped by a slate roof. The chapel has a hexagonal end and is a single storey structure with a three-bay gable end facing the street. It includes a chamfered brick plinth and a dentillated brick band that runs over the window heads, as well as a dentillated verge and a doubly dentillated eaves course.
The main front showcases a central window with two lights flanked by single lights, all featuring pointed heads, with Y tracery in the central head and three circular mullions with moulded capitals. Above this window is an inscribed stone that reads "Methodist Free Church." Beneath the window, there are two lozenge-shaped openings. On either side of the front are projecting gabled doorways, each with stepped stone coped tumbled gables and decorative kneelers. The planked doors are fitted with ornate hinges, and above the door arches is another dentillated brick band. The side elevation contains three pairs of lancet windows, also topped with a dentillated brick band. The chapel is listed for its group value only.
