Description

Grange Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse that has undergone some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and ashlar, with some red brick elements. The farmhouse features a steeply pitched slate roof that is hipped to the southeast, along with a single gable, lateral stacks, and a central ridge stack. There are two dormers with hipped roofs and blocked windows, as well as a skylight on the north side.

The building is two stories with an attic and has a brick plinth. The north front has two bays, featuring a 20th-century three-quarter glazed door on the left, flanked by single lights, all beneath a single wooden lintel and with glazing bars. To the right, there is a round-headed glazing bar sash window, with two additional glazing bar sashes above, both with wooden lintels.

The west front has five bays, with a large 20th-century glazing bar door on the left, flanked by long glazing bar windows, all under a single wooden lintel. To the right, there is a single glazing bar sash with a wooden lintel, and a small 20th-century extension beyond that includes a 20th-century glazing bar door and a casement window. Above, there are two glazing bar sashes to the left, both with wooden lintels, and a single window opening to the right with a glazing bar sash beyond, also with a wooden lintel. There is a blocked window beyond, with its lower half covered by the 20th-century extension. The interior features a 19th-century staircase, and some limestone may have been reused from Barlings Abbey.
