Description
This bridge, built in 1907, spans Nettleham Brook and is located in Sudbrooke Park. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings. The bridge features a single brick arch, with a stone plinth and parapets above. The parapets include a central stone balustrade and stone piers at each end. On either side of the central sections, there are brick walls topped with stone copings and end piers that have pyramidal caps. One of the central piers displays a date plaque that reads "CCS 1907," with CCS representing the initials of Charles Coningby Sibthorpe, the owner who built the bridge as part of his improvements to Sudbrooke Park, which was formerly the site of a now-demolished 18th century Manor House. This bridge has significant architectural and historical connections and is part of a group with the listed entrance gates, gate piers, and lodges to Sudbrooke Park.
