Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was originally built as a rectory in the early 19th century. It is constructed of rendered and painted brick with ashlar detailing. The building features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves and two ridge stacks.
The southeast front has two storeys and seven bays, characterized by a flat band on the first floor and double bands at the eaves. The three central bays project in a large bow, supported by giant order Ionic columns and pilasters, with two tiers of three glazing bar sash windows. Each side of the bow has two glazing bar sashes, with two more above on each side. All windows are topped with moulded cornices on brackets.
The northeast front has two storeys and five bays, featuring a projecting central porch that includes a six-panel door flanked by pilasters, a broad entablature, a modillioned cornice, and an ornate overlight. The porch is flanked by two glazing bar sashes on each side, with five additional sashes above, all also featuring moulded cornices on brackets.
