Description

Stainton Hall Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse, built around 1840. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features ironstone ashlar. The building has a hipped slate roof with three large brick stacks at the rear. The southwest front is two stories high and has seven bays, with a central doorway that includes an open pediment and entablature adorned with triglyphs. This doorway is supported by two slender columns and features a large fanlight above a six-panelled door. On either side of the doorway, there are three glazing bar sash windows, with six smaller sash windows above. Above the door, there is a diocletian window with rectangular and diamond tracery. All windows are topped with stippled stone lintels.

At the rear, there is a large 19th-century lean-to extension. This section is also two stories and has a five-bay front with decorative brick eaves. The off-centre doorway has a segmental head, a rectangular overlight with three panes, and a six-panelled door. Flanking this doorway are single glazing bar sash windows with segmental heads. To the right, there is a three-light sliding sash window with a segmental head, along with a 20th-century glazed lean-to on a brick plinth. Above, there are four glazing bar sash windows and a small casement window beneath a brick segmental head over the door.
