Description
This watermill, built in 1816 with later alterations around 1830 and in the 20th century, features colourwashed brick and a corrugated iron roof with decorated eaves, as well as pantiles. The mill building is two stories high with a single gabled bay on the left side, which has a plinth. There is a single doorway elevated above ground level, featuring a segmental head and a plank door, along with a small two-light window to the right. Above this, there is a rectangular opening with a wooden lintel and a plank door, flanked by single narrow brenthen lights. The west side of the building has five bays and is also two stories tall, with a central large double plank door and a wooden lintel, and a slightly projecting gabled bay to the right. Above are three shuttered openings with segmental heads. Attached to the right of the main front is a two-story, two-bay stable with a pantile roof, large double plank doors with a wooden lintel, a shuttered opening with a segmental head to the right, and a single shuttered opening above. Inside the mill building, there are two millstones in place, and the driving shaft remains intact under the road, connecting the mill building to the wheelhouse on the other side of the road.
