Description
Nos 31 and 33 on Lord Street are early 19th-century buildings that rise three storeys with attics. They feature a stone-coped gable end facing the road, which creates a pediment effect. There is a band at the cills of two lunette windows with three lights, which have glazing bars in the heads of two three-storey recesses. Each of these recesses contains one window on the first and second floors, featuring hung sashes with glazing bars, also with three lights. The windows have rusticated lintels with keystones, although the second-floor window of No 33 has lost its keystone. The first floor has a band at the cills. On the ground floor, there are two early 19th-century shop fronts that have modern glazing, rectangular fanlights, and narrow pilasters. The buildings are constructed of painted brick. Nos 27 to 39 (odd) form a group, with Nos 27 and 29 being of local interest.
