Description
The Blacksmith's Arms is a mid-18th century inn, later used as a public house, with 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of painted brick with a pantile roof, featuring gablestacks, a single ridge stack, and stone and tile coping to the gables. The building is two storeys and has a front with five irregular bays, marked by a first-floor band. Two doorways are situated in the second and fourth bays, each having partially glazed doors, segmental heads, and shallow steps with wrought iron handrails. The doorway to the second bay is flanked by a single sash window with a segmental head. A three-light casement window with a segmental head is present in the fifth bay. The first floor displays a four-light 20th-century casement window to the left, a single 20th-century casement to the right, and then three two-light 20th-century casements. A single-storey 19th-century extension is attached to the right side of the building.
