Description
The Thatched Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with 20th-century alterations, located in Southrey. It is constructed from mud and stud, with some areas rendered and painted red brick. The cottage features a thatched roof, along with some pantiles, and has a single projecting stack on the west side and a single ridge stack. It is a single storey building with a garret and has a four-bay front. To the left, there are two 20th-century brick bays with a pantile roof. The doorway is located to the left and has a panelled door. To the right of the doorway is a long fixed window. The two bays to the right are made of mud and stud, with a plinth and divided by stud, and feature two small sliding sashes. There is also a deep-set garret window in the east end.
