Description
The Library is a former house that has been converted into a library, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a Collyweston slate roof with raised stone coped gables, along with two gable stacks and a single ridge stack. The building is two storeys high with attics and has a six-bay front. There is a first-floor cill band and a dentillated wooden eaves cornice.
The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with a traceried overlight and wood panelled reveals. To the left of the entrance is a canted bay window that has a moulded cornice and a panelled parapet, flanked by single glazing bar sashes. To the right, there is an elliptical bow window containing a single plain sash and a flat lead roof, with an additional single glazing bar sash beyond it. On the first floor, there are six glazing bar sashes, all of which have plain ashlar architraves and flush keystones. The roof features two gabled dormers with glazing bar sashes and dentillated cornices, along with rendered cheeks.
