Description
The stable block at Chestnut Farmhouse is an early 19th-century building made of brick that was once colourwashed. It features a half-hipped pantile roof and a brick ridge stack, with rebated eaves. The structure has two storeys and consists of three sets of two windows. The openings mainly have segment arched heads. On the upper floor, there are two glazing bar tilting casements flanking an off-centre loft door. On the ground floor, to the left, there is a door with an overlight and a stone lintel, next to a tilting casement. Further to the right, there is a board door flanked by single windows, the left window being smaller and flat-headed. Next is another board door with an overlight and an additional window. The left side of the building features an elliptical arched carriage opening with double board doors. The right side has a set of blocked pigeonholes with a blocked door below, and to the right, there is a window. Below this, there is a central stable door, and to the right, a slatted casement with two round arched pig feeders beneath it.
