Description

This chest tomb, located 15 metres south of the chancel at the Church of Saint Mary and Saint Peter, dates from 1813. It is made of ashlar and features slate tablets. The tomb is a plain chest design with a plinth and a shallow hipped top, adorned with oval tablets on each side, some of which are damaged. The inscription notes that Henry Blakelock was a house upholsterer to the Duke of Rutland and commemorates him and members of his family.
