Description

This building is an estate cottage, now a house, along with attached boundary walls and a stable. It is dated 1793 and underwent alterations around 1860 to 1875. The structure is made of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a concrete tile roof with wooden eaves brackets and traceried bargeboards. There are two coped brick gable stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, arranged in an L-plan.

The windows have chamfered stone mullions and surrounds, with leaded glazing. The central window is a two-light design, flanked by three-light windows. There is a central gabled porch with a chamfered doorway and a boarded door. Above the door, there is a cast-iron plaque displaying armorial devices and the monogram "JSG". Each side of the porch has a single light window, and beyond these, there are larger three-light cross mullioned windows with cornices.

To the right of the main building, there is a brick boundary wall with a gateway and segmental tile coping, approximately 10 meters long. At the rear, there is a coursed rubble wall with slab coping, about 5 meters long. The building features a gabled rear wing and an attached single-storey stable that runs parallel to the main range. This property is one of those constructed or altered between 1790 and 1820 by George de Ligne Gregory and further modified between 1860 and 1875 by John Sherwin Gregory, who were Lords of the Manor of Harlaxton.
