Description
Church Lees Farmhouse is possibly a former rectory that has been converted into a farmhouse. It dates from around 1700, with significant alterations and an addition made around 1800. The building is constructed of ashlar and features a hipped slate roof with deeply overhanging eaves on the main block, while the 1700 section has a Collyweston slate roof with a brick gable stack.
The original front, which is 1 and a half storeys high and has two bays, includes a 20th-century glazed door and a three-light casement window to the left. Above this, there is a three-light Yorkshire sash window at the eaves. The main front from around 1800 is 2 and a half storeys high and has three bays. It features a central six-panelled door with a three-paned overlight, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. Above the door, there is a blocked window that forms a niche, which houses a 14th-century carved figure of a musician, also flanked by single glazing bar sashes. Above this niche, there are three smaller glazing bar sashes. Additionally, there is a reused stone in the facade, placed upside down, which is inscribed "RC 1777".
Inside, the 1700 section has shield-stopped beams, while the 1800 section features shutters with panelled reveals.
