Description
The gazebo, located 80 metres south of Harlaxton Manor, was built between 1838 and 1844, likely designed by William Burn for Gregory Gregory. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a slate roof in the Renaissance Revival style. The structure has a plain band at the first floor and moulded eaves, and it is two storeys tall with a hexagonal plan.
The three faces that face the manor have cross casements with projecting strapwork surrounds on brackets and leaded glazing. Below these windows are round arched doorways with heavily rusticated surrounds and enlarged keystones, which contain slatted double doors and fanlights with cast-iron grilles. The exterior includes three sets of linked steps. At the rear, there is a flight of steps leading to the first floor, which is splayed at the foot and leads to a doorway with a stone surround and a mullioned overlight. This gazebo is situated within the gardens of Harlaxton Manor, which are registered at grade II*.
