Description

The stables and outbuildings at Haconby Hall are a range of structures dating from the 17th century, late 18th century, early 19th century, and 20th century. They are built of coursed limestone rubble and red brick, topped with pantile roofs that feature a single ridge stack.

To the east, there is a single-storey, five-bay outbuilding from the 17th century, which has been remodelled in the 19th and 20th centuries. This building includes a doorway on the right with a plank door, a three-light casement window to the left, and a 20th-century garage door beyond. There are also two doorways with plank doors to the left, and all openings are topped with wooden lintels.

Attached to the left is an early 19th-century six-bay stable, which features three brick-dressed doorways with double stable doors and fixed glazing bar windows above. These are alternated with three brick-dressed, partly shuttered windows, all with wooden lintels.

Further to the left is a two-storey stable of three bays, which has a central doorway flanked by single fixed windows, all adorned with raised keystones, and three shuttered openings above. Finally, there is a lower two-bay stable attached to the left, which includes double stable doors with a wooden lintel, a window to the left with a stone lintel, and a single shuttered opening above.
