Description

House. Built in the early 18th century, it was refronted in 1823 and extended in the mid-19th century. The front is lined with stucco over brick, while the roof is covered in Collyweston slate with stone-coped gables. A slate roof is also present to the right, and there are three rendered brick stacks with moulded cornices. The house has an L-shaped plan.

The front facade is two stories and three bays, featuring a plinth and a central six-panel door with a traceried fanlight. The door is set within a wooden doorcase with an open dentillated pediment, flanked by single tripartite windows with bowed centres. All windows are glazing bar sashes with dentillated cornices set under flat lead roofs. Three glazing bar sashes are on the first floor. A cast lead downpipe with a rainwater head initialled “JT” and dated 1823 is located to the left of the front. To the right is a two-story, two-bay mid-19th century extension with rusticated quoins, incorporating reused early 19th century fanlight and doorcase elements. This extension has a single plain sash window on the ground floor and two plain sashes on the first floor.

At the rear, a two-story, three-bay red brick service wing has glazing bar sashes, and incorporates a late 17th century cottage.
