Description
Number 1 on Red Lion Street is a building dating from 1671. It stands three storeys tall with attics, constructed from coursed rubble and featuring stone dressings. The roof is a mansard style covered with stone slates, although some repairs have been made using Welsh slate. The building has two dormers that do not have glazing bars. It features rusticated quoins and three windows with flat arches, which are three-light sashes also without glazing bars. A continuous band runs along the cills. The ground floor has two modern windows and a door. This building is part of a group with numbers 1 to 4 on Red Lion Street. A moulded date stone inscribed "P over W.E. 1793" is also present.
