Description

The building is a former barracks, dating from approximately 1858 to 1872. It may have been designed by Goddard. Constructed in castellated Gothic style, it features squared rubble with ashlar dressings. The main section is rectangular, incorporating an arched gateway and a polygonal turret above. Short links connect the central block to low, square corner towers. A courtyard lies at the rear, enclosed by more functional buildings.
