Description

Nos. 47 and 48 Castlegate are 18th-century cottages featuring a plastered front and a pantile roof with two dormers. The buildings have stone bands between the storeys and sash windows with glazing bars. No. 47 is distinguished by stone flat arches with keystones above the windows and door, as well as a plinth. The side elevation is brick and includes a lunette window. No. 48 has flush wood reveals and a tripartite window on the ground floor, along with a six-panelled door that has a rectangular fanlight above it.
