Description

Nos. 6 to 8 Castlegate is a range of three houses built in the late 18th century. The buildings are three stories high and constructed of red brick, topped with slate roofs. Nos. 6 and 8 each have two windows, while No. 7 features three windows. All windows have segmental brick arches and flush frames with glazing bars. The houses are adorned with a modillion cornice and a parapet. The doorways are plain, with heads that resemble window frames. Nos. 6 and 8 have later sash windows and doors, while No. 7 has a six-panelled door with a plain fanlight. These houses, along with Nos. 3 to 8 and Nos. 10 to 16, form a cohesive group.
