Description
Nos. 3 to 5 on Castlegate are a range of three houses built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from red brick and topped with a slate roof. The buildings rise three stories and feature a stone plinth, with narrow bands between the first and second stories, as well as at the cills of the second-floor windows. Each house has three windows with slightly segmented brick heads and flush frames with glazing bars. The doorways are plain, round-headed brick with fanlights above. There are scrapers present, and No. 3 has a dormer. The top story has modern windows. Nos. 3 to 8 and Nos. 10 to 15 form a group.
