Description

Nos 8 and 9 on St Peter's Street are a tall, two-storey building dating from the early 19th century, constructed in ashlar. The building features bands between the storeys and coursed rubble on the sides, with a roof made of stone slates. It has a moulded eaves cornice, and each house has one window in plain reveals, which are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The entrance to No 8 has a six-panel door, while No 9 has a half-glazed door, both set in round-headed recesses; one recess is blocked and the other has a glazed fanlight. A well-designed plaque between the upper windows is inscribed "WW 1804". Nos 8 to 11 form a group.
