Description
Bleak House is a farmhouse built in 1806, with a refronting completed in 1878. It is constructed of ashlar and features a slate roof with stone coped gables and two moulded gable stacks. The building is two storeys plus attics and has a double first-floor moulded string course. The design includes an advanced gabled entry bay flanked by single canted bays, each topped with large oversailing kneelers on gabled roofs. The central entrance consists of a panelled half-glazed door with a traceried fanlight, which is set beneath a delicate moulded string course that extends over the fanlight and out to either side of the entry bay. On either side of the entrance are single two-light plain sash windows with wooden mullions. The first floor features three pairs of tall segmental-headed plain sash windows, and above these are three additional sets of smaller similar windows.
