Description

No. 2 Swinegate, formerly known as the Rose and Crown Public House, is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys high with attics. The exterior is made of coursed rubble that has been painted, topped with a slate roof. It features a wooden cornice, a plinth, and a band between the storeys. On the south gable, there is a stone stack with a later brick top. The building has three windows with flush frames and glazing bars. The doorway is framed by a square-headed moulded stone architrave, and there are two gabled dormers on the roof.
